Conveyor toasters are a remarkable appliance that allow for better toasting accuracy, flexibility, consistency and convenience. Their existence is a direct result of needing to feed large numbers of people at one time.

It has been said that as long as Man has been making bread, he has also been toasting it. Turning bread into toast for your breakfast is a journey that is centuries in the making. In order to proceed from toasting the bread over an open flame, we have developed the toaster to speed up the process without charring it completely.

Early toasters toasted only a few slices at a time. If you wanted toast, you simply put the slices into the toaster, pressed the lever down to lower the bread into the toaster. Then after the timer was done, the lever then popped up presenting your toast to you.

But the standard toasters and toaster ovens will only produce a small amount of toast at one time. This made them unsuitable for producing toast for a large number of people. Restaurants need to feed a lot of people at once so clearly these standard toasters will not do the job. Therefore, the conveyor toaster was invented to solve this problem.

Conveyor toasters operate much like their name suggests. Bread is place on the leading edge of the conveyor belt (which is made of interlocking metal plates). The bread is moved along under the heating element so that the bread can get properly toasted. Once it passes slowly through the toaster, the toast then falls down a metal slide to the bottom of the toaster. This is where the toast is then retrieved, placed on a plate and served to hungry customers.
